Description

The best-known object in the constellation Orion is the Horsehead Nebula, one of astrophotographers ’favorite destinations. Horsehead Nebula is a relatively dense interstellar cloud of dust and gas, the dark silhouette of which is sharply outlined in front of the glowing mass of gas in the background (IC 434). Inside the 5-light-year-old column, about 1,500 light-years from Earth, there are stellar initiations, and at the upper edge, two young stars emerge, meaning we can see the birth of stars.
